Building and scaling network infrastructure is both costly and complex. Shared Fiber’s unique approach removes those roadblocks—so you can deploy, scale, and innovate, without the headaches.

We specialize in bespoke network solutions, tailored to meet the specific needs of hyperscalers, carriers, data centres, and public sector partners. With flexible financing models and a turnkey development approach, Shared Fibre makes it easier to build, scale, and future-proof your network — without compromise.

Connect faster. Grow smarter. Partner with Shared Fibre.

Shared Fibre specializes in designing and building bespoke, carrier-neutral fibre networks across Canada. Future-proof your network with an experienced and reputable partner.

Our fibre assets are designed and purpose-built for a neutral-host service delivery model. We connect a diverse range of wireline networks to our sites and their neighbouring communities.

Our colocation tenants can purchase lit fibre services from transport wireline vendors without bearing the upfront capital cost for construction or relying exclusively on dark fibre assets for backhaul connectivity.

Customers can leverage our fibre assets to deliver services beyond the tower to end-customers or connect neighbouring radio sites using our infrastructure for last-mile access.

Each of our OSP shelters contains at least one wireline transport service provider, so our customers can purchase lit services from our partners without the capital cost of a dark fibre build.

Shared Fibre’s dark fibre enables a variety of connectivity options including lit fibre services at tower sites as well as last-mile connectivity to neighbouring locations (e.g., Services include EPL, EVPL, EoMPLS, Wavelengths).

Mid-haul connectivity is delivered to entrance vaults outside of OSP Shelters which then terminate inside on our meet me room panels for easier cross-connects and service activation.

Customer cage area two-post racks or secure public-area server racks are pre-provisioned with Structured cabling panels and fibre connectivity that terminate in the MMR panel area.

All interconnectivity is facilitated via grey-light cross-connects.

Our Success Stories

Fibre to the Home Deployment

Location: Oliphant, Ontario

Shared Fibre delivered a full turn-key Fibre to the Home (FTTH) solution in Oliphant, Ontario, for a national telecom provider. The project scope included network design, permitting, construction, fibre splicing, and residential drop installations.

To provide service to 1,120 homes, the build required over 57 kilometers of horizontal directional drilling. This approach minimized surface disruption while enabling efficient, durable infrastructure installation. A new Optical Line Terminal (OLT) was also constructed to support the network.

Shared Fibre collaborated with local government stakeholders and sponsored community events to drive awareness and early registration. Our community-focused approach—unique to Shared Fibre—resulted in over 70% of “doors passed” requesting the new service, demonstrating our strong community engagement.

Key facts:
  • 1,120 homes
  • 70% “doors passed” uptake rate
  • 57kms of horizontal directional drilling

Critical Circuit Delivery – Toronto Data Centre, 2025

Location: Toronto, Ontario

In early 2025, a major Canadian telecom partner faced a fast-approaching deadline to activate a critical circuit within a Toronto data centre. While the project involved a relatively low fibre count, the service was essential for both the client and their downstream enterprise customer.

With internal processes stalling and the contract at risk, Shared Fibre mobilized quickly. Our design partners secured permits in a matter of days, and our civil crews completed the full fibre build—from the tie-in point 700m and 5 blocks away to the meet-me room—within one week.

Thanks to strong working relationships with the data centre’s management group, we gained expedited access to their duct infrastructure, navigating all regulatory and safety protocols without delay.
Where traditional channels faltered, Shared Fibre delivered—breaking through bottlenecks and completing the circuit on time. Our ability to build bespoke network solutions under pressure underscores the value we bring to mission-critical deployments.

Key facts:
  • Permits secured in a matter of days
  • 700m+ fibre build in under a week

Seasonal Cellular Relief Through Fibre Infrastructure

Location: Port Stanley, Ontario

In 2023, Shared Fibre identified a persistent need for improved cellular connectivity in Port Stanley, Ontario—a lakeside community with a year-round population of approximately 3,000 that swells to over 15,000 during peak summer holidays.

Seasonal crowd surges, coupled with the town’s unique topography—where elevation drops sharply toward the waterfront—created significant coverage challenges for cellular operators. Critical municipal infrastructure (e.g., parking meters, water level sensors, traffic lights), emergency services, retail POS terminals and social media hungry public users, struggled under bandwidth constraints.

Shared Fibre partnered with the City of Port Stanley and a major Canadian telecom provider to design and implement a solution. Together, we identified five strategic sites (three near the waterfront) suitable for compact “Streetworks” antenna systems. These installations offer a less intrusive alternative to traditional macro towers, leveraging distributed equipment connected by fibre to an off-site hub.
Shared Fibre extended new fibre infrastructure from the existing macro site outside the city into the downtown core, enabling the antenna systems while also laying the foundation for broader FTTH and commercial services.

The result is a scalable, carrier-neutral network that generates ground lease revenue for the municipality and supports future co-location by additional carriers—enhancing both community connectivity and economic resilience.

Key facts:
  • Peak population swells from 3,000 to 15,000 in summer.
  • Innovative “Streetworks” antennas improve Port Stanley’s waterfront cellular coverage.
  • New fibre backbone enables future broadband and municipal revenue streams.
